PERSONA TENEBRIS
Yane | Turiano | Somejo | Corrales | Camero
Persona Tenebris is a reenactment of the collection of confessions the group asked from random strangers around the world. This video aims to question the norm set by the society and how we as human beings should break free from the norms and feel comfortable in the skin we were truly born to be in. It aims to uncover what is beneath the human persona by showing the darker side of what these confessions actually entail by interpreting it in a manner of performing the group member’s talents in public such as singing, acting, dancing, and drawing. The so called art that the group made could be considered as abominations to society due to almost everything that was confessed which were out of the standard norm that we live in, but that is what they believe to what makes this a contemporary art.
THIS IS?

People are quick to label things. Quick to assume, to categorize and to gauge what they deem said things to be. However, despite the endless concepts and classifications we make, there will never be an explicit assurance of its accuracy, because amongst the billions of minds that exist, your perspective is just one of them. You may claim to know him/her or even yourself, but the question is, do you really?
Inscribed in a small room, the group attempted to portray the essence of going deeper within our own selves and thoughts. The audience immerse themselves in the art and interact with something that only with the presence of light can show, a shadow. The exhibit tries to look past our physical form and right through the shadow within us. The shadows casted by the materials represent us as the being that we say we are. We treat objects as the foundation of the entirety of our being. The thing is, is that really who we are, or rather what we are?
THE FREAK SHOW
Aggarao | Caraos | Federizon | Perez | Villanueva, M.
A freak show is where an audience will view people called freaks for entertainment. These people are the deformed ones, and they are showcased to the society for disturbance and pleasure. This show defines the insignificance of misshapen persons and calls them freaks for having that kind of form. They are used as objects as if they do not have dignity. This is an interactive installation wherein the audience can look inside the box through the two holes shaped like human eyes.
A mirror is found inside, and upon looking through the two holes, the viewer will see a deformed individual having the viewer’s own eyes instead of the eyes of the misshaped person. The reflection signifies that actually, the one looking is the freak for having the mindset of viewing a deformed person and considering it a freak. This generally shows that one must not perceive these people as freaks because it is not necessary to do so. It must be that the people should show the importance of every human being regardless of their shape and form. It is remembered how hard it is for deformed people to live in this world of people who consider them useless.
